Indulge in culinary delights! Perfect holidays in Labin!

Labin offers you an excellent choice between traditional and culinary valuable dishes. We can especially recommend the Istrian soup, one of the most favoured dishes in Istria, which is prepared in a traditional way in the local restaurants. As the main course you should order a meat dish made under the cripnja. This is a traditional method to cook meat under a cast-iron bell. Implicitly you must taste the wild asparagus of the region. And you definitely have to try the famous pastries Fritule or Krostule, too. In Labin, everyone finds something for his taste! What about an Istrian soup as a starter, a meat or fish dish from the cripnja as the main course and for dessert Fritule or Krostule - both very, very delicious.

One of the most traditional and favourite dishes in Istria is Istrian soup. It is served in a clay pitcher, the so called bukaleta, and it is made of red wine, teran or borgonja, a few drops of olive oil, a pinch of pepper and toasted bread which is added at the very end. It used to be served to feed the tired peasant families and nowadays it is found on most Istrian taverns' menus, prepared in a traditional way.
