Pula, Istria's largest town, is located on seven hills in a stunning bay in the south of the Istrian peninsula, and is a treasure house of Roman architecture. Its most famous monument, located in the heart of the town, is the Arena, which is one of the best preserved and largest Roman amphitheatres in the world. Today, it hosts fantastic summer concerts and festivals.

While walking around the town, you'll be enchanted by the timeless beauty of the town's ancient monuments, such as the Temple of Augustus, the Arch of the Sergii, the Forum, and the Gate of Hercules. Pula has a long tradition of shipbuilding and is also a transit harbour.

Because of the scenic beauty of the surrounding area, its turquoise blue sea and well-tended beaches, Pula has for many years been a popular summer destination. Brijuni National Park, with its 14 small islands of pristine beauty, is located in the immediate vicinity.

The coast and sea off Pula are ideal for fishing, diving to wrecks of Roman galleys and warships, and boat trips to unspoilt coastal caves and nearby islands.
