Explore the varied, interesting Istria during your holiday!

The Croatian peninsula Istria offers a large number of interesting places for excursions. Explore the fascinating old town of Porec or visit the town Groznjan, which has become a meeting point for artists and musicians from all over the world.

If you like to experience nature, we can recommend a visit in the Ucka national park or you could go the Cape Kamenjak, the southernmost place in Istria with its beautiful and protected landscape. As an alternative you can follow the Glagolitic Alley, a road connecting memorials on the old Croatian culture.

Grožnjan

Grožnjan is one of the most attractive small medieval Istrian towns located, perched on the top of a hill. This small town packed with magical and narrow stone streets is also known as the "artists' town" thanks to the various events and festivals taking place over the year as well as the countless private art galleries and studios.


The Old Town of Poreč

Stroll gently down the old Roman streets (Decumanus and Cardo Maximus) and their original structure. Towards the end of Decumanus Street you will find Marafor Square, a place where the Roman forum and temples honouring Roman gods used to lay, as well as an intriguing Roman house. The most significant cultural monument is the Euphrasian basilica which has been enlisted on the UNESCO World Cultural and Heritage List since 1997.

Učka Nature Park

Go hiking along this nature park's educational trails whose beauties have been long known and admired. The natural geographical structure and the sea located nearby have favoured the development of a specific climate and rich forest vegetation as well as a diverse, protected fauna.


Kamenjak

Set off on an adventurous sightseeing tour of the narrowest part of Istria, a peninsula 9 kilometres long with Cape Kamenjak and Porer lighthouse located at its most southern point. Take the dusty roads and go on an expedition of exploring the hidden coves and intact beaches stretching along the entire island.

Glagolitic Alley

Set off towards the Istrian hinterland and visit the famous Glagolitic Alley located along the road connecting the town of Roč and amazingly, the smallest town in the world, Hum. The alley is seven kilometres long, featuring eleven sculptures dedicated to the Glagolitic script. Spend the day outdoors, among nature, and learn more about the charming Istrian hinterland.
